About Our Science Management Program

  • Learn how to lead at the interface of science and business. Our Science Management program teaches you managerial skills and gives you a strong background in Science, Economics, and Accounting. 
  • Specialize in a science of your choosing, from Molecular Biology to Physics, and work closely with faculty from across the 5Cs as you blend science with practical business skills.
  • Take classes through the intercollegiate Department of Natural Sciences and work with world-class faculty from Pitzer and Scripps Colleges.
  • Make use of labs, classrooms, and even a community greenhouse in the 65,000-square-foot Nucleus, our new science building.

Interdisciplinary Learning

Science Management is an interdisciplinary major that brings together the practical study of management — through Economics, Mathematics, and Organizational Studies courses — with core courses in a science of your choosing.

What You'll Learn

In addition to the basic science skills you’ll learn as a student in the Department of Natural Sciences, the Science Management major will teach you:

  1. How to use the principles of the science you specialize in to solve problems and answer research questions.
  2. How to apply the fundamental principles of economics and accounting.
  3. How to gain real–world experience outside the classroom.
